About footbadle

footbadle is a free daily football guessing game for fans who love testing how well they really know the beautiful game. Every day brings a fresh set of puzzles across six different modes — and there is no "lose" screen. You keep guessing until you get it, and the goal is simply to solve each one in as few tries as you can.

The idea

Most daily puzzle games give you one way to play. Football is far too big for that. A single player has a nationality, a club, a league, a position, an age, a transfer history, a home stadium and a place in a starting eleven — so we built a game around all of those angles. footbadle turns the things a real supporter notices into six distinct daily challenges.

The six modes

• Guess the Player — a Wordle-style attribute grid. Each guess compares nationality, league, club, position and age, with colour cues and arrows pointing you toward the answer.
• Immaculate Grid — a 3×3 grid where every square sits at the crossing of two clues. Name a player who satisfies both. Each player can only be used once.
• Transfer Trail — a player's career of club moves is revealed step by step. Read the clubs, years and fees to identify them.
• Stadium Spotter — study a photo of a ground and name the stadium or its club, with new hints after each miss.
• Flag XI — a starting eleven shown as country flags in formation. Work out the club from the nationalities and shape.
• Odd One Out — four players are shown; three share a hidden trait. Tap the one that does not belong.

Who makes it

footbadle is an independent fan project built by a small team of football and puzzle enthusiasts. It is not affiliated with any club, league or governing body — it exists purely because we wanted a smarter daily football game and could not find one.

How it works

The puzzles are the same for everyone on a given day, so you can compare your result with friends. Your streaks and stats are stored privately on your own device — there is no account to create and no personal data to hand over. The football facts behind the puzzles are compiled from openly available sources, and stadium photography is used under its respective Creative Commons licences with full credit on our Attributions page.

We cover the top division of eight major leagues: the Premier League (England), La Liga (Spain), Serie A (Italy), Bundesliga (Germany), Ligue 1 (France), Primeira Liga (Portugal), Süper Lig (Turkey) and the Eredivisie (Netherlands).
