About the game

What is footbadle?

footbadle is a free daily football guessing game with six modes: Guess the Player, Immaculate Grid, Transfer Trail, Stadium Spotter, Flag XI and Odd One Out. A new set of puzzles is published every day. For a full walkthrough of each mode, see How to Play footbadle.

Is footbadle free?

Yes, completely. footbadle is free to play and supported by advertising. You never need to pay to play any mode.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There is no sign-up and no login. Your streaks, statistics and settings are stored privately on your own device, so you can start playing immediately.

How often do new puzzles appear?

Every day. Each mode gets one fresh puzzle every 24 hours, and the puzzles are the same for every player around the world that day — so your result is directly comparable with friends.

Playing and scoring

Can I lose a puzzle?

No. There is no "game over" in footbadle. Wrong guesses just reveal more information. The goal is to solve each puzzle in as few guesses as you can.

How do streaks work?

Solving a mode keeps that mode's streak going for the day. Because puzzles reset daily, the key is consistency — playing every day matters more than getting a perfect score. Missing a day resets that mode's streak.

Why does my guess show green, yellow or an arrow?

In Guess the Player, green means an exact match on that attribute, yellow means you are close (for example the right league but wrong club), and an arrow on the age column points toward an older or younger target. The full feedback system for every mode is explained in How to Play.

Are the puzzles the same for everyone?

Yes. Everyone gets the identical daily puzzles, which is what makes comparing results with friends fair and fun.

Leagues and data

Which leagues and players are included?

Players and clubs come from the top divisions of eight leagues: the Premier League (England), La Liga (Spain), Serie A (Italy), the Bundesliga (Germany), Ligue 1 (France), the Primeira Liga (Portugal), the Süper Lig (Turkey) and the Eredivisie (Netherlands).

I found a mistake in a puzzle. What should I do?

Please tell us. Email contact@footbadle.com with the mode, the date and what looked wrong. Football data changes constantly and records sometimes disagree, so corrections from players genuinely help us keep things accurate.

Where does the data and imagery come from?

Football facts are compiled from publicly available sources, and stadium photography is used under open Creative Commons licences with credit. Full details are on our Attributions page.

Is footbadle affiliated with any club or league?

No. footbadle is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with any football club, league or governing body. Club names and badges belong to their respective owners and are used factually for identification only.

Privacy and ads

What data does footbadle collect?

As little as possible. Your game progress stays on your device, and we use privacy-respecting analytics plus anonymous solve counts that contain no personal information. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Why do I see ads, and can I control them?

Ads keep footbadle free. On the web we use Google AdSense; in our mobile apps we use Google AdMob. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before showing personalised ads, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time. See the Privacy Policy for how to manage this.

Is footbadle suitable for children?

footbadle is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Technical

Which devices and browsers work?

footbadle runs in any modern web browser on desktop or mobile. It is built to be fast and mobile-friendly, so you can play on a phone just as easily as a laptop.

My streak or stats disappeared. Why?

Because your data is stored locally, clearing your browser data, switching devices or using private/incognito mode can reset your stats. There is no account to sync from, which is the trade-off for not collecting your personal data.

How do I get in touch?

Email contact@footbadle.com or use our Contact page. We aim to reply within a few days.
